General Description
The G2258 is a high common-mode, voltage sensing comparator that detects over-current conditions by measuring the voltage developed across a power MOS. The device measures this differential voltage signal on common-mode voltages that can vary from 0V up to 0.3V, independent of the supply voltage. An open-drain FLAG output on the device can be configured to alert low current detection.
The G2258 device operates from a single 2.5V to 5.5V supply, drawing a maximum supply current of 350μA in normal operation. When in standby mode, the G2258 draws a maximum supply current of 50uA. The G2258 device is specified over the extended operating temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.
