DESCRIPTION
The RS8408 is a 2A step-down DC-DC converter. Atheavy load, the constant-frequency PWM controlperforms excellent stability and transient response. Noexternal compensation components are required
The RS8408 supports a range of input voltages from2.7V to 5.5V, allowing the use of a single Li+/Li-polymercell, multiple Alkaline/NiMH cell,and other standardpower sources. The output voltage is adjustable from0.6V to the input voltage.
The RS8408 employs internal power switch andsynchronous rectifier to minimize external part count andrealize high efficiency. During shutdown, the input isdisconnected from the output and the shutdown currentis less than 1μA. Other key features includeover-temperature and short circuit protection, andunder-voltage lockout to prevent deep battery discharge.
The RS8408 delivers 2A maximum output current whileconsuming only 45μA of no-load quiescent current.Ultra-low RDS(ON) integrated MOSFET and 100％ dutycycle operation make the RS8408 an ideal choice forhigh output voltage, high current applications whichrequire a low dropout threshold.
The RS8408 is available in SOP-8 package.
